The School Seal
The Punlaan School Seal is the long and wide seedbed guarded on one side by green mountains and surveyed by birds aloft in the sky. The seedbed represents Punlaan and the seedlings, the students. Punlaan imparts to all its students, like nutrients, the knowledge, skills and above all, values for their integral formation as human persons. The seedlings, once they have grown and matured enough to be harvested, shall, in turn, scatter more seedlings with the same, if not more, life and nutrients.
The verdant mountains which protect the delicate seedbed from the harshness of strong winds and rain are the teachers and mentors of Punlaan who protect their students, not from the hard realities of life, but from bending under these realities. The fresh, gentle water that streams down from the mountains to the seedbed feed the seedlings that they may grow supple stems and strong roots with which to face life.
The birds and the sky simply mean that Punlaan students, who should know how to work hard with their hands, have their feet-the roots-firmly on the ground but, with their heads way above, seeing the wholeness of the earth and the transcendence of their work of service to God, country and fellowmen.
Punlaan School Hymn
Words by Lina Escanilla, Punlaan Graduate
Music by Gloria Iñigo, Fomer Punlaan Faculty
Para sa iyo, paaralang mahal,
Buong lakas kaming umaawit.
Mataginting naming mga tinig,
Pasasalamat sa iyo’y pinababatid.
Panata ng katapatan
Mula sa aming puso’t isip,
Sa habang panaho’y aming ihahatid
Hanggang sa hininga’y mapatid (2x)
Mahal naming paaralang Punlaan
Alaala mo’y di iwawaglit kailanman.
Magbubunying wagas na dalisay,
Para sa iyo ay nararapat lamang.
Mabuhay!Mabuhay, aming paaralan!
Mabuhay!Mabuhay, sumaiyo ang Maykapal!
Talino’t dunong naming taglay,
Na iyong tinuklas, nilinang at pinanday.
Kaypala’y utang naming tunay,
Walang katumbas na kabayaran.
Mga puso nami’t isipan,
Mga buhay naming taglay.
Sa Diyos at baya’y sadyang nakalaan,
Gayundin sa iyo aming paaralan (2x)
